Actor John Voight, most recently known for his TV roles in the action-drama 24, was the guest of honor and master of ceremonies at last night’s big fundraiser for the National Republican Senatorial and Congressional Committees. And he came to please.

With over 2,000 Republican super-donors in attendance, Voight brought the red meat, spending the majority of the evening bashing democrats and liberals alike. While he did spend some time railing against the usual suspects (Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, George Soros and Chris Dodd), most of his ire was aimed directly at the current Commander and Chief, President Obama.

Voight called out to those in attendance to “free this nation from this Obama oppression” noting that “Obama thinks he is a soft spoken Julius Caesar” but that his “sweet talk” will only result in the downfall of this once great nation. He also spoke of Obama as “wildly radical” and mocked him as the “One” — a reference first given Obama by talk-show host Oprah Winfrey. But the real rally call of the night came at the end when Voight called and cheered on Republican leaders, such as Rush Limbaugh, Bill O’Reilly, Glenn Beck, Michelle Malkin and Sean Hannity, to bring down the “false prophet Obama.”

His speech was greeted with large applause and found by Newt Gingrich, at least, to be the rallying cry for the 2010 elections. By the end of the event, the Republican Committees had raised $14.45 million.

John Voige, Rush Limbaugh, Bill O’Reilly, Glen Beck, Michelle Malkin and Sean Hannity. This is the intellectual firepower of the current right, eh? No wonder they are becoming ever more marginalized. Problem is, they incite hatred, madness, and violence. (And that's no small problem.) A prayer: "May God magnify for them all they desire for others."

I'm wondering if the outrageous statements by John Voight, Rush Limbaugh, Newt Gingrich and others are a way of getting free "advertising". You didn't hear a peep from them when Bush & the Republican Congress were doubling the national debt.

Interesting how every time someone questions or criticizes Obama, the response from liberals is a Bush complaint. I suppose it is easier to complain about someone else than try to justify what Obama is doing, but I'm curious who Obama and his followers are going to point to as the months go by. As far as the right wing talking heads not complaining about Republican budget increases: I sure heard them. Contrary to what the left seems to think, we on the right did not think Bush was perfect. He was, however, much better than any alternatives we were given before or since. For what that is worth, anyway.

Michael Steele said this on a radio talk show a few weeks ago: "The problem that we have with this president is that we don't know him," he said. "He was not vetted, folks. … He was not vetted, because the press fell in love with the black man running for the office. 'Oh gee, wouldn't it be neat to do that? Gee, wouldn't it make all of our liberal guilt just go away? We can continue to ride around in our limousines and feel so lucky to live in an America with a black president.' Okay that's wonderful, great scenario, nice backdrop. But what does he stand for? What does he believe? … So we don't know. We just don't know." I think that I'll start practicing my speeches (steal a few speeches from others) using a teleprompter and run in 2012. I can spew better crap than he did and not ruin the entire country. I'll also have every document concerning my life sealed just for the hell of it including my birth certificate, school records, transcripts, passports, adoption papers, etc. Worked for him!

Whata appears to repeatedly be the problem with the left taking heed to what the right says, is they don't want to hear the truth. To think that what the right is saying is correct would be paramount to saying, 'our esteemed (in the uninformed minds) leader, is actually 'yes' a false prophet (listen to his campaign speeches, especially when he talks of his moms atheism), a communist (raised as such by his mother and grandparents and has been supported and surrounds himself with such), a liar (watch his speeches or maybe I should say his readings) from one day until the next..each day contradicts the day before. Why does the left not ever mention this in their diatribes of him? As for Hannity, O'Reilly etc etc...actually do research, and they always back up their statements with either video's showing what was said or official statements from Obama's staff...How can you then say that they are inciting hatred and madness? The substance comes straight from the teleprompter or those that pass the word on to us from BO's staff...You will never hear BO having open, unrehearsed Q&A, because he does not know any of the subject matter. It took him four days to say they could save the captain being held captive by pirates...imagine if we have a national catastrophe, how long will it take him to make a decision...well excuse me, not for him to make a decision, but for someone to make a decision for him, put it on a teleprompter for him, and stand him up to read what he is supposed to say. I only ask that those that want to continually blame republicans to do this...make a chart..have a left and a right side. Make notes each day of what is said and done...(try a couple of months) then compare the journey of each side...If you are truthful with yourself, you will have an honest answer.

In a speech at a Republican fundraising event, Jon Voight decried Barack Obama as a false prophet. He then declared himself the new savior of America. At Monday night’s fundraising dinner for the Republican Party, Jon Voight was the special guest speaker. In his address he decried Barack Obama as a false prophet who was gleefully leading the country towards Marxism. He then anointed himself the true savior, who would lead America towards righteous free-market capitalism. Voight defended his false prophet claims, saying, “Everything Obama has recommended has turned out to be disastrous,” referring to Obama’s stance on the economy, Iraq, and support of Adam Lambert on American Idol. He then challenged the President to a duel on top of Mount Rushmore “where God will see fit to grant victory to his true chosen one.” Whether the opponents will duel with pistols or by turning their staffs into snakes is still unclear, but will be televised if Obama accepts. Nearly 5,000 people were fed at the Republican fundraiser, dining on smoked salmon and olive focaccia. Those seated closest noticed during his speech that somehow his glass of water had changed to top shelf vodka. After his speech, Voight took turns laying hands on attendees, calling on the ghost of Reagan to watch over them and blessing them with “Lax gun laws,” “Rush-like Wit,” and “a convenient absence of the Gay.” Voight is already embroiled in legal trouble with the IRS regarding donations to his new church

I think John is part of the scum of this country. We make him rich and he has the gall to call our president a false prophet. Piss on him and his party.

At least we know how he got rich. We are still trying to figure out how Obama got where he was. And I'd rather have an actor call him a false prophet than have our PRESIDENT traveling the world telling every country how mean he thinks we are.

"We make him rich..." That moronic comment pretty well illustrates how ignorant a lot of people are when it comes to anything related to economics. If Voight is rich, it's because he worked to produce a product that other people were happy to pay for, not because some education-challenged leftist twit claims the credit...

Liberalism (Neo-Marxism) always produces the exact opposite of its stated intent. When liberals promise liberty and prosperity, what actually occurs is the enslavement and impoverishment of a nation. How long will we continue to stand by while our personal liberties are stripped from us? I would like to see term limits placed on our state and federal legislators. If term limits are good enough for the office of President, then they should be good enough for our legislators.

Iam just amazed at how the right keeps telling this lie that they did not ruin this country and I am even more amazed that the yahoos are falling for it.John Voit is inbred trash and a sore loser to boot.He and Newt are the text book reason your parents should date outside the family.Don't you repubs ever get tired of crying?Damn.

Voit is a bottom feeding social climber that just wants to be seen as a part of the status quo.If this puke was not doing movies he would be shoveling cow patties from some genrty class guy's barn.He and Newt would be banging someone's live stock if they had not gotten lucky.

Hey,the cold war is over, can't you synchophants come with another booger man than "socilaism"? You cowards don't even have the pills to just come out and say you don't like the President because he is black. All that other stuff is a weak front. This was just not suppose to happen. After all the deck stacking, lies, dirty tricks, murder and double speak, this was not suppose to happen. So much for white supremacy

Ah, there it is. If you don't like anything about the current president, it's because you are a racist. Couldn't be any other reason at all. That took longer than usual to to be tossed out. And socialism isn't a bogey man if it's real. Those who don't recognize these plans, policies, and agenda as socialism evidently don't know what socialism is. You can agree with it and try to rationalize it if you want- it's your choice- but do not try to tell us it isn't socialism because it most certainly is.
