David Carradine Possibly Murdered?

Yesterday, Manolith reported on the unfortunate and untimely death of Kung Fu and Kill Bill star, David Carradine. Found dead with a rope around his neck in a hotel room in Thailand (where he had been working on a film), the initial response was that he had committed suicide. However, new evidence has appeared this morning that brings a whole new light to the case.

To start, close friends of Carradine said he was neither suicidal nor depressed and that he had shown no previous signs of suicide. They also mentioned that he hadn’t ever called a suicide hot line either. This of course is all anecdotal evidence and often times even good friends can be unaware of suicidal tendencies, but authorities investigating the case are now finding reason to believe someone else was in the room as well. A fact that some are taking to suggest murder. However, as it appears this is little more than speculation.

So what’s the cause then? The leading theory so far is that Carradine died of auto-erotic asphyxiation. For those unfamiliar with the term (i.e. me five minutes ago), it’s when someone purposefully cuts of circulation to their brain during sexual activity, the most popular method being through choking. Unsurprisingly, this sexual act is very dangerous and often ends in death or severe injury. But it would explain how Carradine died and why there’s evidence someone else was in the room.

That said, very little is still known at this time. While death by auto-erotic asphyxiation may be the leading theory, it is still just a theory. For now at least.
