Every once in a while we get to review iPhone apps, and this month there were a few on the list we didn’t know what to do with at all. Here’s the round up for May.

Mad Decent

Mad Decent, the record label du jour, put out an iPhone app. It’s not very technical, just a few buttons that play silly noises, but whatever. I’m down.

It has an air horn and a dinosaur and an elephant and… my personal favorite… a angry commando guy on a flying surfboard. All the buttons make the relevant sound. The angry commando goes “broom. broom. broom. broom. doo dadadada”. Exactly. Well, it’s free, and I’m sure you’ll run into a kid one day that will think it’s hilarious.

Tipstar

I have to say… anyone with a brain can figure out how much to tip someone. If you have to get out your cellphone, open up an app, even by that point you shouldn’t be thinking that far ahead. Just give her five bucks. Don’t be a dick. But Tipstar works for some people, I guess. They are probably the kind of person that has an umbrella in their car. Damn thinker-ahead-ers.

DO I REALLY CARE WHAT SHIA LEBEOUF IS DOING? No. No I do not. Why do I have this app on my phone? I’m not sure. Probably just to check up on what’s going on in Hollywood. It does that thing where it tells you how many stories you haven’t read, and there’s a shit ton every day. Like, a hundred or so. So imagine you don’t check it for a couple days and POW you have to sit there and read every one of them. I’m not sure how anyone could really give this much of a fuck about it, unless you’re a Hollywood executive, in which case you don’t even need a iPhone. You probably have people employed that are paid $100,000 a year just to tell you what’s what.

iBeer

ibeer-1

iBeer is pretty cool if your thing is watching beer get poured but not be able to drink it. No sir, I don’t like it. Not one bit. You’re telling me I have this beer that I can’t drink? It’s trapped in the phone? Well then you, my friend, will have a very angry person and a broken phone in about three minutes.

is the iBeer free? it looks fun for a quick gag, but really wouldn't want to spend money otherwise.
