Whenever I think about 80’s TV shows, I remember those classic intros that were so catchy and well done. Today’s shows have decent intros, but there’s something about that era that made you want to tune in to your favorite TV intros. That being said, I’ve compiled a Top 5 List of 80’s TV Intros that will make you cry laugh and remember the coolest decade of the 20th century.

5. Miami Vice

Although the recent movie wasn’t that good, Miami Vice was the first good cop bad cop show that brought you sexy women, beautiful scenery and all the guns you could bargain for. The intro did a good job in summarizing what the entire show was about.

4. Charle’s In Charge

Scott Baio at his best. Whenever I watch this intro, that song stays in my head for days. Nonetheless, it makes for the perfect intro, to an 80’s sitcom, that was oddly interesting.

3. Who’s The Boss

I wasn’t around for the bulk of the 80’s, but this was hands down one of my favorite TV shows. Tony Danza is coolest dude from Brooklyn 2nd to BIG. And who could forget Mona. Better yet Alyssa Milano!

2. Knight Rider

And the award for coolest theme music goes to… You know Busta Rhymes even sampled this tune on his song “Fire It Up.”

1. The A-Team

The explosions in this intro were hands down the best for any TV show in that era, including MASH. Add in some dope tunes and you get the hottest TV intro of the 80’s. Side note: B.A Barakus aka Mr. T was my favorite character. I could relate to him so well; flying in airplanes never used to be my thing either.

It was tough, but I can honestly say every single show on this this list could have made the top spot. The 80’s was a great decade for television and really set the bar for the 90’s. As for today, TV intros are good, but I don’t think they’ll ever amount to the classics we experienced in the 80’s.

Not sure about all of these picks, but I do agree the 80s did in fact get it right. Or at least compared to the 90s. I mean, Friends? or Seinfeld? Has anyone heard these intro songs recently? Not a good look, imo.

I figured The A-Team was going to be #1, but you have the wrong version of it! I much prefer the original version. ". . . If you need help, and if you can find them, you can hire . . . The A-Team."

I always thought the WKRP intro was really good. I liked the exit song too-really rockin!
