As the epic Lakers vs. Nuggets series continues, JR Smith has somehow been accused of flashing gang signs after making a big play. I don’t know if BlackSportsOnline.com, the website accusing Smith of throwing up these signs, has any hard evidence proving these are gang affiliated, but I think they’re jumping the gun.
The tattoos, jewelry and large entourage may seem like gang affiliation to some, but in reality most of these players don’t go back to the streets they grew up on and bang there hood. I’ll admit it though, JR Smith does look like he’s doing the new T-Rex dance, but I’m pretty sure he’s not a Blood.
In actuality, most of these players hold tournaments and hoop camps in the summer helping kids get off the streets and into a gym. After the dress code implemented by the NBA and David Stern went into effect, I thought all this NBA player bashing would die down. Pretty soon chest bumping will be the only form of celebration. JR Smith has yet to comment on the accusations.

He's throwing down a gang. Meaning that he is not a blood, doesn't associate with bloods. Hes most likely a Crip, or a Gangster Disciple.

We're always quick to judge the persons image. Look at Paul Pierce last year when he threw up both P's. Sure you can call it Piru Bloods, but some times you can be mistaken about it. Its like saying that people might as well claim accusations saying that Damon Jones is throwing up B's when he makes a three point shot. If the person in any sport claims a gang. Let it be known, and have that clearly addressed to the commissioner. You don't need another Pac-Man Jones running around the team.
