Two-time Super Bowl Champion and Pro Bowler Ben Roethlisberger for the Pittsburgh Steelers had Skin Cancer, according to his Facebook profile. The 27 year-old denies any type of cancer disease and holding any online profiles. It has become more common these days to see celebrity Facebook, Myspace and Twitter accounts claiming to be the actual person.
Roethlisberger isn’t the only NFL player to succumb to fake online profiles. Eagles players Trent Cole, Asante Samuel, and the Cowboys’ DeMarcus Ware each had there Twitter accounts removed after proving them fake. It doesn’t just stop at NFL players either. Kanye West has made it a point to let Twitter know that his fake profiles are popping up everywhere and need to be shut down. It will be interesting to see if these social networking sites make special arrangements for celebrities and there accounts. I can’t imagine that being very easy though
