Cassie Ventura is a singer of songs that sound like they’ve been texted from a fourteen year old girl’s cellphone. With such impeccably well named songs as “Me & U” and “Long Way 2 Go”, she’s gone from the R&B underground to the R&B mainstream and has stayed there since 2004. Although none of us here at Manolith can remember how any of her songs go.
Recently, her computer hacked into and naked pictures were leaked online of her. Honestly. Who keeps naked pictures of themselves on their computer? That’s so 2006. Of course, Manolith was alerted within hours and here we are on the case writing about it. Cassie herself said of the nude leaking crisis: “It seems that someone has hacked into my computer…… that’s real foul and evil…… Now stop acting like you haven’t seen a titty before”.
So who is Cassie? After high school she moved to New York to model, where a make up artist introduced her to Puff Daddy / P. Diddy / Diddy / That Guy Who Can’t Make Up His Mind and lo, a career was born. Before signing to Bad Boy Records, her song ‘Me & U’ was already on the radio airwaves, and she signed a lucrative contract. Since then she’s been doing the same thing, putting out somewhat memorable songs to everyone else but seemingly everyone in the Manolith office. Seriously, we’re drawing a blank.
Cassie seems like she’s got a good thing going: a successful R&B career, and now leaked nudes – which are almost De rigueur in celebrityism today (just ask Paris Hilton, Pete Wentz, or anyone with their own Vh1 show). So good luck to you, Cassie. May the force be with you.
