This past weekend the Dallas Cowboys practice facility collapsed as more than 70 players, coaches and scouts prepared for training camp. Meteorologists believe strong storm winds up to 64 MPH were the cause in bringing down the 4 million dollar inflated structure. Although no players were hurt, the collapse left one coach with a broken back and another scout paralyzed.
A few others sustained minor injuries, but nothing as critical as the two previously mentioned. The facility consisted of newly signed rookies, drafted only a week ago.
Summit Structures LLC, the company that created the the inflated structure, did not comment on the incident after attempts by the Associated Press. This collapse should come as no surprise to most, due to the fact that this same company had another one of there buildings collapse in back in 2003. A Philadelphia state court ruled that they were “negligent in the design and construction of a membrane-covered building.”
