Las Vegas legend and entertainer Danny Gans passed away last night after reported breathing complications. According to local authorities, Gans’ wife discovered him and called 911 at 3:44 a.m., reporting that the entertainer was having trouble breathing. By the time the paramedics arrived Gans was already dead. He was 52 years old when he died.

Better known as the “man of many voices” Danny Gans first appeared as a star-performer and musical impressionist on Broadway. Moving his way on up, he switched over to Vegas in 1997 where he was voted Vegas Entertainer of the Year eleven years in a row (including this year). Starting and perfecting his Vegas act at The Mirage, Gans had just switched to Steve Wynn’s Encore earlier this year. Wynn had this to say of Danny Gans death:

Elaine and I and all of us in the company are devastated at the loss of our brilliant, talented and loving friend…. one of the most unique human beings and entertainers in the world has been taken from us in an unexpected moment. A profoundly tragic event that leaves us all sad and speechless. The loss of Danny, to his wife Julie, his children Amy, Andrew and Emily, is at this moment impossible to comprehend. We will all try to go on with our lives without our dear friend. At this moment it seems almost impossible.

not to be THAT GUY, but death at such a young age and "breathing problems"? Plus in the City of Sin? Sounds like a drug overdose to me.

I first saw Danny Gans in 1994 at a private event, and again in 2002. Not only was he uniquely talented but he was the only performer in Las Vegas who had the guts to tell everyone at each performance about his love for God, and closed out each show with one of his contemprary Christian songs (in his own voice). There is no telling how many lives he influenced. He is now receiving his treasures in Heaven. God Bless you Danny Gans.
