A Florida teenager opened up his brand spankin’ new Nintendo DS and found… rocks.
Oh, and a Chinese newspaper scrap. That’s right… like something out of Charlie Brown, Jodi Wykle was shocked as her son opened up the Nintendo DS box she’d purchased him from Wal Mart and found a box full of rocks. His Mom turned the car around and lo and behold the Wal Mart wouldn’t let Jodi return it, instead saying to call Nintendo. And – you guessed it – Nintendo told her to call Wal Mart.
“They don’t want to do nothing. They want me to keep the box of rocks. I’m not buying a box of rocks for $138,” she said.
It seems that the same box – the EXACT SAME box of rocks had been returned to Wal Mart just a few days before and had been repackaged and put back on the shelves. Wal Mart is obviously investigating the matter.
Jodi and her son recieved a full refund and a $20 gift card.
As a parent, I would have called Wal-Mart AND Nintendo to complained until I got what I paid for. I wouldn’t have stopped until i got my Nintendo DS not a box full of rocks. People that act like this make me sick!
$20 gift card? How cute. I would have preferred a complementary fish tank and a Betta.
