Well this is a surprising trade. Kansas City Chief’s tight end Tony Gonzalez was traded and is now heading to the Atlanta Falcons. According to reports, the Chiefs were offered Atlanta’s second-round pick in next year’s draft in exchange. Which considering Gonzalez is a 10-time Pro Bowler who’s still on top of his game, doesn’t seem like all that much. Gonzalez seems excited about the trade, as he sees Atlanta as a great team, but admits that “It’s somewhat bittersweet.” Gonzalez after all has been in Kansas City ever since he first entered the NFL in 1997. He had the following to say about the trade.
“I love Kansas City. I grew up in Kansas City. The city means a lot to me. I got there when I turned 21. It will be sad to leave a city I love. But I’m looking forward to making a Super Bowl run in Atlanta every year for the next three or four years”
Last season Gonzalez had 96 caught passes, 10 touchdowns and 1,058 yards.
