Ray Bans Still The Best

Ray Bans are the most ubiquitous sunglasses ever, and rightfully so. Since the dawn of their Wayfarer model in the early 50’s and the use of that particular style in classic movies such as North By Northwest, and after being championed by the likes of James Dean and Bob Dylan, Ray Ban has been lucky enough to always be ahead of the curve by simply remaining true to their roots.

Accept no imatators. The original Wayfarer is brilliantly crafted and highly unlikely to fall apart – not like the $10 sunglasses you could buy at a gas station. They’re sturdy as all hell, and polarized to get the best UV protection for your peepers. They’ll set you back about $130 for their craftsmanship but their worth every penny. Once you feel the weight and resilience of these things you’ll wonder why you’d ever spend ten bucks on a shitty pair ever again; they FEEL great. They FEEL worth it. And believe me, they are.

And the recently introduced Wayfarer II brings with it a slightly more fine trimmed shape, updating the classic glasses but not taking anything away from them. Ray Ban has a full line of quality sunglasses (Hunter S. Thompson swore by the Aviators), which when summer rolls around will be very much worth rocking a pair. Quality costs money, people, and these things go on your head where everyone can see them.

i agree. much better to purchase one great pair of sunglasses that will stay classic forever for $130 than to buy three pairs every summer for $10-15 a pop.

I didn't purchase a pair of wayfarers, rather the RB4075 model which is also polarized. This is my first pair of real sunglasses, so far they seem worth the price. It's little things like comfort, ability to stay on your face, wear them indoors. Things like that you might not think about cause most of us have come to expect certain traits from shitty sunglasses. Driving, action sports, reading outdoors, motorcycling - so many reasons to have a good pair of sunglasses... Too few not to.
