Happy 420

Yes everyone, today is 420 in case you forgot. The only day in which you can smoke, chew or inhale the drug known as Marijuana, Weed, Mary Jane and so forth, without getting in trouble. Actually that’s not necessarily true, Marijuana is still illegal and you will go to jail if you have a lot on you, just ask Jamie Waylett.
According to urban legend the celebration of 420 has been around since 1971, when a group of high schoolers used to meet up everyday after school at 4:20PM to smoke marijuana. From then on, marijuana aficionados claimed April 20th as the official day of cannabis. The ritual usually begins at 4:20PM on April 20th and continues throughout the evening.
Rituals of celebrating the holiday differ from country to country, state to state and person to person. Imagine if you will the classic movie “Half Baked.” Each time the crew engaged in marijuana, they would incorporated there own unique rituals they felt best defined the group.
420 is now celebrated all over the world from New Zealand to Canada. Surprisingly, the marijuana “hobby holiday” is mostly celebrated on college campuses around the United States. Who would’ve thought?
