Ashton Kutcher – star of That 70’s Show, Dude Where’s My Car, and Butterfly Effect, edged out news barons CNN to the battle of a million Twitter followers early Friday morning.
Ashton committed to donating 10,000 mosquito nets to stop the spread of Malaria in Africa if he won, and according to his live webcast, that check it already on its way. It was a close battle – Ashton edged out with barely 2,000 more in the final stretches – but ultimately it was Bro vs The Media as at approximately 12:30pm Ashton emerged as the final winner.

For a person who’s Twitter handle isn’t even his name (Ashton goes by the moniker @aplusk), he beat out Wolf Blitzer and Co fair and square. If you’re not following him (and odds are you are), Ashton’s Twitter is a mix of banter between him and his wife Demi Moore and general musings on being a celebrity. CNN’s on the other hand is news stories that ultimately aren’t as fun as looking at pictures of Demi’s ass. Sorry. It’s true. I can’t lie.
