Celtics President and former player Danny Ainge reportedly suffered a minor heart attack early Thursday morning. After being rushed to Massachusetts General Hospital, reports confirm that he’s in stable condition and recovering well. Although he’ll likely miss the Celtics playoff opener against the Bulls Saturday, doctors say he’ll be back on his feet in no time.
Apparently Ainge woke up in the morning complaining about chest pains. He was then rushed to the hospital where they had to unclogged an artery that was 100% clogged.
Danny Ainge is one of the main reasons why Celtics were able to pull off there 17th NBA championship last year, after he was able to successfully recruit Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen. It should be interesting to see how the Celtics respond to this unfortunate situation. I’m sure it will motivate them to play harder for their fearless leader.
