A 20 year-old Boulder, Colorado woman was arrested and faces charges of animal cruelty upon police discovery that she had taped an 8 month-old puppy to her fridge.
Apparently the woman did the puppy up out of frustration and anger that her boyfriend had not gotten rid of the dog after it had bitten her and made a mess on the floor. “I know this looks bad,” she said to the police, who arrived at the apartment investigating claims of a domestic dispute.
Notice she said it looked bad, not that it was bad. Her claims that the couple “usually don’t do this” and that they were “going to get rid of him anyway” hardly speaks well of either her or her boyfriend. Does it really matter that it’s not a regular occurrence? Didn’t it occur to her that the police might frown upon seeing an animal treated this way? What were they thinking it would be like to own a new puppy? Don’t these people watch television or movies, where puppies pretty much do the crapping on the floor schtick all the time? The puppy has been placed with a local chapter of the Humane Society for safekeeping.
I suppose we ought to feel lucky that these idiots didn’t decide to be parents first.
