Eminem. Marshall Mathers. Slim Shady. This tongue-twisting rapper has been out of the spotlight for a minute now ever since he burst onto the music scene with his hits ranging from “My Name is”, ” Lose Yourself,” “Without Me,” and ” Stan.”
His new album entitled, “Relapse,” is due for wide release this year and his protege, 50 Cent, also confirmed that the blonde-haired rapper will also be releasing a second album this year. 50 cent tells MTV, “You can’t ask for more excitement from a hip-hop perspective than two Eminem albums. One is great. It’s a treat. But the second one is exciting.
Eminem will also be inducting the rap group, Run DMC into the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame on April 4, 2009 held at the Public Auditorium in Cleveland. Run DMC broke ground in bringing rap music to the public consciousness with hits from “It’s Tricky,” “It’s Like That,” and “Walk this Way,” with Aerosmith.
You may have heard his song, “Crack a Bottle,” with 50 Cent and Dr. Dre on the radio, youtube, or myspace. It’s making its way to the top of the charts, and just goes to show you the power of a track by Marshall Mathers. Now, I know he can make a hit song, but can Eminem bring back the tracks such as “If I Had,” and “Sing for the Moment,” that got his fans and music critics fired up?
Guess we have to wait for the release of “Relapse.”
