Arguably the best player to ever play the game, Michael “Air” Jordan will be inducted into the Naismith Hall of Fame on Sept 10-12 in Springfield, Massachusetts. Jordan will be joined by former players John Stockton, David Robinson, Utah Coach Jerry Sloan and Rutgers University Women’s Coach C. Vivian Stringer.

Jordan will be the top inductee, having won six NBA championships, five Most Valuable Player awards, 10 scoring titles and a number of other awards that could fill up this entire page.” Not to mention, he’s a global icon who shifted the game of basketball from an American sport to a worldwide phenomena.

The Naismith Hall of Fame has been around since 1959 and was named after the inventor of basketball, Dr. James Naismith. Players, coaches, referees and executives are all eligible to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, after a thorough screen process and nomination ceremony.

Due to the fact that Michael Jordan is the best player to ever live, they should give something bigger than just an induction into the hall of fame. Maybe rename the facility to The Air Jordan Hall of Fame. I don’t think anyone would oppose that?

surprised he hadn't been inducted before now. i know they have to wait a few years after a player retires, but come on. This is JORDAN. Should have been inducted in 1994.
