So for when you’re sitting there on the camping trip thinking “I sure don’t want to make a mess or anything” this is the thing for you. It’s literally a cardboard box that you shit in. I can’t make it any clearer.
I’m not sure exactly why you’d need it, but for about $30 you too can have your very own cardboard box with a hole on the top and a plastic bag on the inside. Or you could just get a friend that owes you a very, very large favor to help out. Or you could be a normal person and just go in the woods like everybody else. However, that might make you “dirty” in the eyes of your high society friends who you are roughing it with in the Catskills that weekend.

Are there other applicable scenarios for this? Perhaps if you are wont to preserve your leavings in some receptacle for later inspection. Or if your religion dictates that no light shall ever befall your poo, lest it besmirch its sanctity. Maybe you're just a dude who likes to shit in a box.
