Editors Note: Trust me when I tell you everything in life could use a woman’s touch, even a men’s news site. So with that I’m happy to welcome Kathrien Ahn to Manolith. She’ll be providing insight into men’s style, dating and more. This is the type of stuff girls only share while in the bathroom with other girls, so pay close attention.

Guys have it way easier than gals do when it comes to style.  You don’t have to deal with the latest influx of fashions, trends, high heels, and more.  But I do think when guys make an effort to have their own look, it adds to your attractiveness and creativity which can translate elsewhere.

My boyfriend asked me for style tips recently and we hit a few stores to find new clothes to update his look which until recently had been gray shirts and very baggy jeans.  He was a bit reluctant at first when I started to give my suggestions, but he eventually came around and you know, we compromised. So, here are some style tips for you dudes.

DITCH THE SUPER BAGGY JEANS- Don’t get me wrong. Baggy jeans can be really hot, with a good belt and a fresh to def t-shirt, but try a more fitted pair. No, this doesn’t mean you need to become emo and only wear skinny jeans, but just sport a pair of jeans that don’t fall down your ass and the ladies will nod in approval.

COLORS ARE YOUR FRIEND-  Now, if you find yourself buying versions of the same color shirts over and over again, maybe its time for you to consider trying a new color.  Or maybe the same color shirt with a cool, different design.  I know it can be hard to go beyond what you already know, but come on, be brave. You’re a man!

DOUCHEY CLOTHES ARE UNNECESSARY- I won’t name any brand names, but you don’t have to dress like the latest Hollywood party boy to show that you have style.  Shirts that are way too tight coupled with super-torn jeans that actually cost you $300 aren’t necessary.  You don’t want to look like you’re trying too hard…cause that’s not attractive.  Style is essentially about wearing clothing that shows off your personality that happens to also fit your bod.

KNOW YOUR BODY TYPE- Are you super thin, have a bit of extra padding, or are you muscled up like Vin Diesel?  Well, as long as you dress for your body type, you really should be fine.  Accentuate your good features like your guns, your rear, or maybe just your overall look with the right button-down shirt, t-shirt, or just a crisp hoodie that screams, “Yeah, I’m cool with who I am and what I bring to the table.”

If you do all these things, and rock out your confidence, there will probably be no doubt in anyone’s mind that you are a stylish dude.
