Former NFL Quarterback William Jeff Komlo died Saturday in Greece after being involved in a tragic car accident. The 52 year-old Kolmo was apparently on the lam in Greece and considered a fugitive from the law after failing to show up to his drunk driving hearings in Chester Springs, PA.

Komlo was also under investigation for fires at his homes in Pennsylvania and Florida. He worked as an insurance broker before fleeing to Greece. He played in the NFL for 5 seasons from 1979-83 for Atlanta, Detroit and Tampa Bay.

Today, fingerprints of the body were reported to US authorites, matching them up with Komlo’s. Authorities were able to close the cases on Komlo and had this to say about the situation: “As far as we’re concerned, we’re closing this now.” As of press time, the NFL has yet to release a statement on the case.
