March Madness Schedule and Scores

By Yosef Solomon on March 19th, 2009

The day is finally here, the 2009 NCAA Tournament kicks off today and if you’re wondering where to watch it, we’ve got you covered. CBSsports.com and the NCAA are bringing you every game in the tournament via March Madness On Demand.

The first round of games are my favorite because of all the upsets and bracket busters. No matter how good you think your bracket is, there are always outcomes you never saw coming. The first 16 games debut today and here’s a list of the schedule:

Thursday, March 19, 2009
12:25 PM ET Cal State Northridge vs. (2) Memphis
2:50 PM ET Radford vs. (1) North Carolina
9:40 PM ET (15) Binghamton vs. (2) Duke
3:00 PM ET Chattanooga vs. (1) Connecticut
9:40 PM ET Morgan State vs. (2) Oklahoma
7:25 PM ET Akron vs. (4) Gonzaga
7:20 PM ET American University vs. (3) Villanova
5:00 PM ET Mississippi State vs. (4) Washington
9:50 PM ET Virginia Commonwealth vs. (6) UCLA
2:30 PM ET Northern Iowa vs. (5) Purdue
12:20 PM ET Butler vs. (8) LSU
7:10 PM ET Michigan vs. (7) Clemson
12:30 PM ET Texas A&M vs. (8) Brigham Young
2:55 PM ET Maryland vs. (7) California
7:10 PM ET Minnesota vs. (7) Texas
9:55 PM ET Western Kentucky vs. (5) Illinois

If you can’t get to a computer or TV you might still be in luck. For only $5 the iPhone is offering an application that lets you stream all the games on your phone. Just make sure your not putting anyone in danger while you watch.

Keep in mind, you need to have a wifi connection to get streaming video with that iPhone application (streaming audio however doesn't require wifi). Which begs the question -- In what situation would this application's video component be useful? I mean, if you're by a wifi connection, you're probably by a computer (or a TV!) which would give you bigger viewing screens. Maybe the bathroom? Coffee shops? Libraries maybe? Other ideas?
