Oh my friggin’ God. That show was still on the air? Huh. Well, you learn something new every day.
Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers was finally cancelled after 17 years on the air, seemingly without warning. The show has been filmed in New Zealand since the early 2000’s despite being shuttled around to literally about 13 time slots on more networks than I can count on one hand.
The show reached its cultural zenith of children’s television in the early to mid 1990’s and has floundered ever since. It used to be THE show to watch. Wow. I can’t believe it was even still on the air.
The show followed the adventures of the Power Rangers who basically jumped around a lot and kicked various bad guys’ asses. I have no idea really if there was much of a point to it. All you need to know is that the Pink Ranger (played by Amy Jo Johnson) was a total babe.
The show has been through so many cast members, production companies, story lines and name changed (Power Rangers RPM, anyone? I thought not) that it had become a shell of what it used to be. Here’s to you, Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers. Rest In Peace.

Despite some of the rumors circulating the web, the Power Rangers are not going away in 2010. Disney and Bandai America continue to be committed to the Power Rangers Brand. In fact, Disney is producing a Season 18 and Bandai America will continue to develop action figures and toys for fans and collectors of all ages. Over the past seventeen years, the Power Rangers have been on Earth, in space, on the moon, under water, traveling through time, in the jungle and anywhere evil lurks. They’ve battled Rita Repulsa, Divatox, Master Org, Dark Spector, Toxica, Jindrax and many more evil-doers – villains who have been shrunk to miniatures, tossed in jail, reduced to ooze or banished. As Bandai America looks to the future, the Power Rangers toy line will continue to morph into action battling against evil.

Wait...will the Power Rangers: rpm be the 18th season? because rpm was one of the best, and it is not fair that it only made it to the 32nd episode! seriously!!!! It had such a good story!
