The iconic clown with the fanged teeth is being reborn. That’s right: Pennywise is back to scare the living crap out of you.

There’s a remake in the work of Stephen King’s classic book “It”, which was made into an ABC miniseries which – as miniseries’ go – is a work of art. It starred Tim Curry as the creepy clown who said “we all float down here” and snatched kids into drainpipes; a role that I’m very curious to see who’ll take it.

The film follows a group of boys who are plagued by Pennywise, an evil and demonic clown. The latter half is set in 1985, although in the remake it is to be expected to take place in the current.

Why they feel the need to remake possibly the scariest movie of my childhood I have no idea. This was the movie. This was THE movie that scared the living crap out of me when I wandered down into the TV room at my friends house at night and we sat there and watched it start to finish and we couldn’t sleep.

The movie is being penned by Dave Kajganich and should be released in 2011. No word as to who is directing or starring, and as per usual Manolith will let you know as soon as possible.
