Obama to Appear on the Leno Show

Media presents politicians with a great platform to spread their ideas and gain support and humor is probably the best way to reach out to people and present a humane face. Barack Obama will be doing the same when he appears on Jay Leno’s show on Thursday evening. This will be Obama’s first appearance on a late night comedy show ever since he became president.

The Tonight Show is a powerful platform for Obama to tell people about his economic recovery program. An Obama appearance on the Leno show won’t do the show any harm either, ratings are guaranteed to shoot through the roof for that particular episode.

The interesting thing about the Obama appearance is that Obama will be the first sitting president to appear on such a program. Is that indication of Obama’s courage, given that he’s facing an economy spiraling downwards or the warm relationship that he enjoys with the media. Certainly, Bush made Obama’s media management task a lot easier.

It will be interesting to see if Leno tries to corner Obama by bringing up the issues or maybe the gaffes about automobile inventors and website numbers. My feeling is that he will guide and nudge Obama and give him space to make his views known.

All in all, a wonderful PR opportunity for Barack Obama.

Having been busy as of late, I haven't had time to keep up with all the new news. So I'm excited for this opportunity to hear more about the President's budget. Should be interesting
