Black Angus, the manliest steakhouse on the planet, seemingly most famous for its “Greasy Cowbody Dude” ads in the late 90’s, has been forced to shut its heavy wooden doors as the holdings company that – uh – holds them, has just filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Yes, the steakhouse that inspired one of Patton Oswalt’s most famous rants is no longer. This leaves only Outback and (gulp) Sizzler still going in the “cheap grey steak” arena. Who will win? There can only be one Highlander.

It’s not like the steakhouse was in any way good… the only memorable experience I personally ever had there was running into rapper-cum-actor Ice T when I was about 12 years old. Other than that, it was your average run of the mill steak chain. Still, their ads were so damn ripe for parody:

Check out Patton Oswalt’s rant:

Have any memorable Black Angus experiences?
