Anna Anisimova, daughter of Russian metal magnate Vasily Anisimov, is proably in the midst of an existentialist crisis right now. The new Forbes billionaires list has come out and papa dear’s name is not there on the list. It’d set me thinking and I too wouldn’t enjoy my lunch if I found out that my dad’s no longer a billionaire.
Anna has been in the US and on the American social circuit for some time, she’s been dubbed the Russian Paris Hilton and her money and lifestyle was considered interesting enough by Forbes to include her in their “20 Most Intriguing Billionaire Heiresses” list for 2008.
I don’t really know what’s intriguing about Anna though I do know that she spends lavishly on real estate. In 2005 she paid $23 million on Diane Von Furstenberg’s downtown Manhattan property. She’s rumored to have had a boob job and plans to have her own successful line of perfumes, more shades of Paris?
Anna belongs to a young breed of Russians who only have a faint understanding of their society where not very long ago materialism was a big sin. She’s had her difficult moments. She lost an elder sister to the Russian mafia and her migration to the US is partly for her own security.
