Early reports of Jimmy Fallon’s late night talk show venture are positive. The comedian took over from the much-loved Conan O’Brein late Monday night, with powerhouse guests Robert DeNiro and Justin Timberlake.
The show was not without its hitches, such as the opening monologue and the vaguely obvious Daily Show dibs. It’s clear they’re drawing a lot from the Internet generation, as the show employees two full time bloggers who monitor and sometimes create viral web content to promote the show. Visibly nervous house band The Roots was there, it’s great to see they have an outlet that is more than one album every 2 years or so.
Robert DeNiro is not known as a very easy person to interview but he came off as affable and somewhat sarcastic. Justin Timberlake did a great interview at one time doing a totally hilarious impression of Michael McDonald. And as we all know, Michael McDonald is awesome. Dude was in The Doobie Brothers and has a totally gnarly goatee.
All in all not so bad for what some were expecting to be a total disaster. It will be interesting to see what he does with lesser loved (and lesser known) guests.

R U serious? Fallon and the show are getting absolutely trashed throughout the blogosphere. The most positive comments are along the lines “Hey, leave him alone. It’s his first week. He’ll get better.”
Worst thing since Chevy Chase.
i think you’re forgetting Carson Daily. mind boggling that’s still on
“Success?” This must be a new usage of the word, with which I am totally unfamiliar. By this definition, the raid on Dieppe was a huge success for the Allies in WWII.
