Font nerds are a wily bunch. After doing some research for a film I was working on I became super obsessed with finding fonts used in every day life. Then today I found this great app. This could be of use to a font nerd like myself: ever wondered what font something is written in? You have? Awesome. Then we can geek out together over this iPhone app.

Simply snap a picture of the words you’re trying to figure out the font of and Whatthefont will tell you what font it is after correlating it with its giant database of fonts. It’s a great, simple & unique concept. And at zero dollars – that’s right, FREE – it may just become one of your most favorite apps.
