Strange facial hair and Rock & Roll seem to go hand in hand. We aren’t sure if its the lifestyle, the drugs or if groupies just REALLY dig them. In any case, we wanted to take a moment to acknowledge some of our favorite beards from the gods of rock.

Please enjoy the Top 5 Weirdest Beards In Rock & Roll:

5. Benny from Benny & The Jets

It’s not so much a rock beard as it is “Olde Timey Wizard”. You get the feeling that you should ask directions to the nearest apothecary, for your horse grows weary ‘pon such long journeys.

4. ZZ Top

Yeah, this one was pretty obvious. Those beards are the TGI Fridays of beards. Not too shabby, and much better when you’re inebriated. That one guy wears that hat that looks like he’s wearing a skinned porcupine that scares me.

3. Kenny Loggins

Look at the guy. His beard looks like he sings: all high and unnecessary. It’s like a dog that looks like its owner.

2. Bob Dylan

This beard is on this list solely for the reason that he pulls it off to look like a sad pirate. Its disconcerting. I don’t want to think of such things as a sad pirate. Pirates should be jolly: they shouldn’t wear cowboy hats and collaborate with Will.I.Am –  because that is incredibly lame.

1. Rick Ross

That beard is so pimp it hurts. It looks like someone drew it on him, but in all the while looking like it will jump off his face at any minute and beat someone up. It’s hypnotic.

Did we miss any? Please let us know in the comments.

I'm a little disappointed mr. Sam Beam wasn't included in this beardology.

Um, that picture of Bob Dylan is beardless. Here's one for you: http://tinyurl.com/atl6tj Check out beardrevue.com and find any number of musicians with great (or weird, I suppose) beards.
