Last seen on Stargate as a hottie, and before that on the big screen as a hottie in Serenity, the movie continuation of the Joss Whedon tv series Firefly, Morena Baccarin has been cast in the role of “Anna”, the hottie leader of an alien invasion of Earth in the upcoming remake of the 1980’s miniseries “V” … hottie.
For those too young or inebriated to remember, the show concerned itself wth a spacefaring race called the “Visitors”, who show up one day to darken Earth’s skies with their ridiculously large flying saucers. They then present themselves as benign human-looking beings who only wish to share their technology with humans and further the expanding brotherhood of the stars. However, it all comes to a head when it’s discovered that the Visitors aren’t humanlike after all, but rather evil reptilian beings who only want to enslave and eat Earthlings. No accounting for taste.
From the sounds of it, Baccarin will be taking the role previously filled by the “Diana” character, who played it somewhat stern, humorless, and dominatrix-like, much to the delight of those of us growing up with even the slightest of submissive tendencies. No word yet on whether or not Baccarin will play the role the same way, but that really doesn’t matter. She has always had that quality about her of being not-quite-human anyway … probably because she’s so damned beautiful you don’t really believe you’re looking at someone based on the same carbon atoms that you are. Here’s hoping her next role is as the Wilma Deering hottie character in the as-yet-unannounced yet inevitable Buck Rogers remake.
