The Beatles To Star in New Guitar Hero Video Game

By Ned Hepburn on March 5th, 2009

The Beatles – a small band you may or may not have heard of – are appearing in their own video game. And that game will be Guitar Hero. And lo, God came down from the mountain and all was good.

That is right, everybody. The Beatles are reuniting… in a video game. John, Paul, George and Ringo will appear again onstage on Guitar Hero Beatles Edition coming out this September it was announced today. Paul and Ringo – the only two remaining Beatles – appeared and played together some old Beatles classics at the press conference. They played ‘Ticket To Ride’ and ‘I Wanna Hold Your Hand’ among others. The former megaband are notoriously un-eager to adopt new technology being one of the only major holdouts not to have any music available to sell online; they’re still one of the most player artists in the world, missing out on millions in online sales. The Guitar Hero announcement comes as somewhat of a shock to those who weren’t expecting any sort of actual formal Beatles video game.

Not much else is known, although I’m sure in Beatles-esque style you’ll be able to go as one of them from all their different eras from the leather jackets all the way through to the hippie bearded era.

Angry PR email heads up, the Beatles are in the new Rock Band, not Guitar Hero.
