Jason McElwain may not have his own line of shoes or be on Cribs anytime soon, but the dude played the best game of basketball anyone has ever seen, ever, so help me God as I type this, because it not often a YouTube video makes you tear up like a little girl with a skinned knee. This one did.
Y’see, Jason is autistic.
On February 16th 2006 the young dude, a member of the high school basketball team but hardly ever put on court, was allowed to play the final 4 minutes of a game. And dude scored twenty points. Including six three-pointers. Do you know how hard that is for anybody, let alone J-Mac? I can barely do that stone cold sober with 20/20 vision and at least a semester of high school basketball under my belt. Hell I didn’t even make the team. This kid made the team. We should put this kid on a coin.
See for yourself in this video: the entire crowd empties out onto the court at the final buzzer. It’s heartbreaking! The lil dude did it! It’s like a real life Disney sports movie!
I’ll leave the words to a minimum, I think this YouTube makes it pretty clear so I won’t go into an ill worded man-tear soaked diatribe about perseverance. For further reading check out the full Wikipedia article.
