Rachael Ray FHM Shoot

Rachael Ray – TV’s bubbly homemaker personality – once took some incredibly racy photos for popular mens magazine FHM.

How is this news? This is news because it’s a perfect lesson about personal branding. This is along the same vein as Martha Stewart being photographed cooking bagel bites in a thong. It’s basically the last thing you thought you’d see: Rachael has long been criticized for being too squeaky clean and boring… and suddenly? She’s *gulp* pretty damn hot all of a sudden. Sure didn’t see that one coming.

Rachael Ray? seriously?

She’s like that hot normal chick in your Poli-Sci class who you reaaaaally want to see without her Banana Republic sweater on and then finally YOU DO and its like THE BEST THING EVER THAT EVER HAPPENED EVER IN THE HISTORY OF THINGS HAPPENING. 

These pictures are hardly new – the FHM shoot stems from 2003, but for whatever reason the powers that be have kept their existence a relatively quiet one. In a roundabout way these photos are making me want to watch her show just to see if she’ll repeat this on the air.

For someone who’s image is so squeaky clean it’s hard to imagine them doing something like this. It’s relatively tame in terms of “sexy photo shoots”, that’s for sure, but it’s more the fact that she’s known for being so saccharine.
