A man trapped underneath a collapsed sofa in the UK survived entirely on whiskey for two whole days! Think about it!
Joe Galliot, 65, slipped and fell during a power outage and somehow got trapped underneath a heavy sofa with only a bottle of whiskey within reach. He was discovered by a neighbor two days later.
“I took a sip of [the whisky] and thought, well this isn’t too bad.” he said to the BBC.
How crazy would that be? Personally I think any situation where you are trapped and you also have whiskey would be great. Because whiskey is delicious! What if you were caught on an elevator and there was an emergency bottle of Jack Daniels so you could pass the time? That’d be a blast. You’d make such good friends with the random other people also stuck on it. What if there was also a little tap for pints of Guinness? We need to get back into the swing of drinking more as a nation, people. Bring it back to the ‘Three Martini Lunches’ where you could get drunk at noon on business like Don Draper or something.
Mr Galliott said he was keeping another bottle of whisky by the sofa “just in case.”
