Here’s a great story about a kid that was born without any arms becoming a swim team star.
Sixteen year old Domingo Santoyo is not only a chess genius but also, after deciding to learn swimming on a whim, has become a star on the school’s swim team. He excels in the 50 meter freestyle, where he may not be winning all the races but he’s certinatley drawing the crowds.
Reports are saying that he’s getting a five minute ovation as he gets out the pool. It’s a pretty great reaction to a great story.
“From my point of view, I don’t think of myself as limited,” Santoyo, 16, says. “I was born like this, and sometimes, I think it was better this way because there are some people who lose their arms in accidents, and I think that makes it harder.”
The citizens of Brownville, Texas are looking at a bonafide sports celebrity. It’s a great sentiment that I think we can all share; that old chestnut that if you put your mind to something, you can do anything.
