Over the past week, Baseball’s highest paid player Alex Rodriguez, has been making headlines after admitting to using Steroids. Some are even calling him A-Roid and selling T-Shirts of his new nickname on Ebay.
Today, Rodriguez had to face the press and his teammates, while marking the first official day of Spring Training for the New York Yankees. Prepared with a written statement, A-Rod read aloud about how he and his cousin began experimenting with an over-the-counter drug called “Boli” from the Dominican Republic. He also admitted to using the GNC safe Ripped Fuel, an energy booster/fat burner.
The most dramatic moment in the conference came towards the end after A-Rod finished his official statement. He looked over to his teammates and said “And to my teammates” then paused for approximately 37 seconds. He took a sip of water, leaned into the microphone and said “Thank you.”
The media tent was full of reporters teammates and Yankee personnel, but for that 37 seconds, the room was completely silent.
