2009 Daytona 500 Start Time

The 51st Annual Daytona 500 is scheduled for Sunday, February 15, at 2PM EST on Fox. Dubbed as “The Great American Race,” the Daytona 500 is the Super Bowl of NASCAR.

This year’s festivities will begin with a spark as Grammy award winner and Country Pop superstar Keith Urban headlines the Pre-Race show. As always, the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona, FL will be the host of this grand event.

With controversy already circulating around last year’s winner, the fans will definitely be in for a treat. The 2008 Daytona 500 winner, Ryan Newman, decided to switch teams last minute and now will be driving with the Stewart-HAAS Racing. An unprecedented move in NASCAR; this will be the first time in the race’s history that a driver switches teams after winning with them the year before.
