Here’s the lineup for 2009’s Grammy Award performers.

Lil Wayne- The biggest Lillest name at this year’s Grammy’s is none other than Lil Wayne. Leading all contenders with 8 nominations, Wayne’s looking to win his first Grammy ever. He’ll also be joining the biggest names in hip-hop by performing with TI, Kanye West and Jay Z in the smash hit Swagger Like Us. In his 2nd performance he will pay tribute to his hometown of New Orleans through his song “Tie My Hands,” reflecting on the tragedies surrounding Hurricane Katrina.

Radiohead – Tagged as one of the most anticipated performances of the night, Radiohead will be performing their hit “House of Cards.” This will be Radiohead’s first live performance in the United States since 2000.

Kid Rock – Nominated for two Grammy awards, this former hip-hop DJ is looking to bring some old fashioned rock and roll for his hometown of Detroit, MI. Having never won a Grammy award, Kid Rock is more than due to grab his first ever golden phonograph.

Robert Plant and Alison Krauss – The Led Zeppelin front man is teaming up with British singing sensation Alison Krauss for a rock and roll performance. Could be hit or miss, but with a rock legendary performer like Plant, you should expect a good show.

Coldplay - The British invasion is led by Chris Martin and his crumpet eating pals.  After X & Y was lambasted by critics, the group returned to form with their latest single “Viva La Vida.”

Paul McCartney – The former Beatles front man returns this year to perform a song from his critically acclaimed CD Electric Arguments.  From all that he’s been through with divorces and that Steven Colbert interview, it’ll be interesting to see what he brings to the stage.

Katy Perry - Her father is a minister, but that didn’t stop this teen heart throb from singing about kissing a girl and liking it.  Should be a great performance of a song we’ve all heard thousands of times.

Justin Timberlake – What is a Grammy’s show without the presence of the perennial fan favorite and annoyingly pervasive JT. He is rumored to be doing a duet with Britney Spears. Actually, that’s not true.  But it would be interesting to see.

The Jonas Brothers – Nominated for best new artist, teenage girls everwhere are going crazy. These male versions of Miley Cyrus are anticipated to keep the kids up late on Sunday night.

Jennifer Hudson – Oscar-Award winner and former American Idol contestant Jennifer Hudson will be performing her debut single “Spotlight.” Jennifer Hudson is slowly making her way back to the “Spotlight”, after suffering from her own family tragedy that left her brother, mother and newphew dead.

Kanye West - The Grammy aficianado and 10-time Grammy winner Kanye West will be making his presence felt in his two perfomances. The first will be with his hip-hop brethren, in TI’s smash hit “Swagger Like Us.” While the second is with British sensation Estelle, rapping over her crossover single “American Boy.”

Rihanna - Up for three awards, this R&B songstress will most likely be performing her smash lead single Disturbia. At last year’s grammy’s she ripped the stage with her perfomances of “Please don’t stop the music” and the unforgettable “Umbrella.”

Jay-Z - With six grammy nomintations, the self-proclaimed “Michael Jordan” of rap, Jay Z looks to add his Brooklyn swag to TI’s “Swagger Like Us” performance. Jigga always has something up his sleeve, so don’t be surprised if he comes out with his wifey Beyonce.

T.I. – Hip-hop’s ultimate gangsta, TIP is looking to make the best of his Grammy performance; knowing that in only a few months he will be carrying out a 366-day sentence in a Georgia State prison. TI will hit the stage with his hip-hop buddies performing the ultra swag anthem “Swagger Like Us”

Where was Beyonce? Why didn’t we see the performance on TV? She was not interviewed on the red carpet. I was not impressed with this years grammy awards. Some of the biggest HIT artists and songs weren’t on TV. What’s going on? Nothing really moved me as a fan. I don’t think I heard one artist thank the fans who buy their CD’s.

@GC I didn’t think of it until you said it, but your point about the artists not thanking the fans who buy their cds is right on.

  11. Sherri February 9, 2009 - 2:28 pm

who was the black man who performed with justine timberlake?

  12. Yosef Solomon February 9, 2009 - 2:58 pm

There were actually to black men that performed with Justin Timberlake. The first person was the “The Godfather of Soul” Rev. Al Green and the 2nd person was rapper and “The King of the South” TI.
