Sad news, fans of Bro comedy.
It appears Seth Rogen has pulled out of Sony Picture’s big screen adaption of The Green Hornet; a show that has been off the air for over 30 years and starred Bruce Lee. And they cast Seth Rogen? No wonder the plug got cut. So it goes, movie nerds. According to sources at this years Sundance the studio just lost interest completely. Focus groups and what-not, I’m sure, had no idea really what to expect. It’s not like The Green Hornet is a “must make / must see” property. I can see someone, perhaps, going to see Of Mice & Men, but The Green Hornet? Who’s idea was that anyway?
Seth; it’s a good thing you pulled out of this… it’s no wonder that 60’s-70’s Tv Shows Turned Into Movies haven’t been faring too well. Remember Starsky & Hutch with Ben Stiller and the Butterscotch Stallion Owen Wilson? No. Nobody does. Don’t make me bring up The Flintstones Go To Rock Vegas. That was heinous.
There’s been no official word from Sony yet, but I’m sure that there won’t be. It’s not a good thing to advertize one of your flagship films just got put on life support.

this film was doomed to fail. why oh why do these film studios insist on recreating the green hornet using comedy directors-- remember kevin smith, anyone? why not invest into an action film that would do these timeless characters (and their creators) proud and actually get some interest from the movie viewers?
