This picture of Michael Phelps apparently smoking weed is setting the Internets a blaze! It appears to show mega-gold medal champion Phelps giving the old bong a good bubbling. What do you think of the marijuana controversy?
Update: Michael Phelps has admitted that the photo accurately depicts “bad behavior”. Here is his statement:
Phelps said: “I engaged in behavior which was regrettable and demonstrated bad judgment. I’m 23 years old and despite the successes I’ve had in the pool, I acted in a youthful and inappropriate way, not in a manner people have come to expect from me. For this, I am sorry. I promise my fans and the public it will not happen again.”

what’s the problem, every one does it, right? well, here is a fact: In the last 4 months there has been more than 1.300 death because of cannabis sativa, erithroxylon cocae, etc. Relatives of my closest friends have been kidnapped, some other friends have been killed, in those little towns where the grow “mota” kill each other because of drug, doctors, engineers, lawyers, students, fathers, daughters, sons, mothers, get killed; all because “most other peoples his age” gets doped. this is a fact!

Michael Phelps is still the best in the world at his sport. True weed isn’t good for your lungs, but its how you use it. Be smart, know the effects and continue to live your life. If he still decides to smoke then so be it. no body else in the world has achieved what Michael Phelps has. So dont judge him. As long as his productive, keep doing what you do Michael Phelps.

I met Michael Phelps in Vail hanging out with Mike Porricelli (also from Maryland) and find it hard to believe that he is a regular pothead. MIke and Mike definitely can have a good time….drug free!
