A Vertu cell phone is just one of the many items that the super rich can flaunt to show that they are comfortable being decadent, yup not just rich but sick rich. The funny thing that makes me laugh is that the modus operandi of all these companies catering to the super rich and producing limited edition luxury items is the same.
Another thing that gives me a chuckle is that expensive does not always denote classy. For example the Vertu Boucheron 150 is the epitome of hideousness and it costs $30K. It’s looks are yuck and it takes 2200 man hours to create a single such piece of disaster.
It’s basically about creating some hype about the product and then presenting a ridiculously priced gadget where you’re paying less for the functionalities and more for the gold, diamond, platinum in the piece. Swiss watches, expensive dresses or in this case the Vertu cell phone, its the same idea applied differently. Just add some gold to it! And then wait for the rich suckers.
Vertu cell phones are available in limited editions, diamond editions, and such series. So, if you have the moolah, go ahead… make the seller’s day.

So, is this a review of the phone or a rant against capitalism and consumerism which has been usurped by the jealous rage of one lonely blogger. What a pointless post, He obviously has no understanding of the luxury Market or what constitutes luxury. To think the primary driver for luxury products is "Functionality" demonstrates a total lack of knowledge..a very naïve and misguided individual....

Am not anti-wealth and this is not a rant nor a review of a phone but just a thought about what constitutes "luxury". Is the only way to create luxury items is by adding precious metals to them? Functionality is key always!! whether in a standard item or a luxury product. No point in having a diamond studded watch if it's not going to show time correctly. Capitalism is great, decadence is not. And that's what people like Bill Gates and Warren Buffet teach us. A lot may nouveau riche / hopefuls may find this post distasteful, maybe coz it shows a mirror to them.

This Boucheron phone is amazing!!! I bought my Vertu from www.luxuryphones.net. They are all used but authentic, and no need to spend many thousands to join the club :-)
