Leslie Porterfield

Leslie Porterfield is a fast woman. Now now, don’t let your debauched minds go racing somewhere else. I didn’t mean “fast” as in being unrestrained by convention or morality; what I meant was that Leslie Porterfield is the fastest female motorcyclist in America. I mean she can tame a Turbo 2000cc class Hayabusa and clock 232 mph on it. Now what does it take for a woman to be able to conquer a beast like that and submit it to her will – strong wrists, strong heart, sense of balance, fearlessness, nervelesness, and what else? I think just staying on the bike at that speed and trying not to wobble itself is a great achievement.

Leslie’s 3 world records made at the Bonneville Salt Flats are 209mph on a naked Hayabusa; 192mph on a production class CBR1000RR; and 232mph on a 2000cc class Hayabusa. She is the first female member of the 200mph club for a conventional “sit on” motorcycle and has been honored with the 2008 AMA Racing Female Rider of the Year Award. Leslie has been involved with motorcycles for the past 16 years. She is 32 and if it is of any interest to you, she’s single.

Leslie has been able to combine work with pleasure and she owns High Five Cycles which is a used motorcycle dealership in downtown Dallas.

Hear Leslie talk about her experience about establishing the 234mph land speed record –
