Aiko is in her 20s, has shiny hair, fair complexion, delicate features, and a figure of 32-23-33. She has excellent housekeeping skills, is not given to nagging, will remember important dates like your mom’s birthday, do your accounts, stay quiet during a football match, and work like a machine. Well, truth be told, Aiko is a machine. A robot to be exact. Aiko the beautiful robot is the creation of Vietnamese Canadian Le Trung. It took Le, a computer whiz, two years to develop Aiko and it cost him around $21,000. Le’s robo-wife Aiko reads him the day’s headlines, provides company at the dinner table and with a few tweaks to her software could simulate an orgasm, should Le so desire.
Aiko, however is a prude who is capable of slapping men should they touch her inappropriately. Aiko is sensitive to tactile sensations and has a vocabulary of 13,000 sentences, intimidating for a wife, but remember she can be switched off.
Le is looking for funding so he can produce more such Aikos and sell them as domestic help and who knows, some poor harassed man might take courage in both hands ditch his wife and decide to buy Aiko. If that happens, it could really open the floodgates and Aiko may have to be mass-produced.
