Triceps Straps

It is fairly common, at the very least for people to perform simple everyday activities without ever giving a second thought to what kind of impact these things might have on your body. For example, just think about one who spends the day typing at a computer, especially a less than ergonomically correct keyboard. The wrists are taking a beating, so are the eyes, strain on the tendons, muscles and joints in the hands, wrists, elbows, shoulders, backs and necks. Most aren’t aware of all the body parts that come into play when you simply type.

When people perform simple activities without even thinking about the impact on their body it results in repetitive motion injury. In time, stress injuries like the soreness in the wrists rears its ugly head during your workouts. That’s why a fitness aid like a triceps strap is of great benefit as they are used to make cable exercises or stacked weight exercises easier on the wrists. They look similar to a cable rope attachment with their V-shape, but they’re typically made from some type of heavy-duty nylon and padded for comfort. The top of the strap hooks to the cable and comes down forming a long V. Two wide nylon hand loops are located at the ends to wrap around the wrists.

It is easy to use triceps straps, all you have to do is fasten a loop around each wrist and attach the other end to the cable hook. You can then perform triceps press-downs as you normally would with a rope cable attachment. Some people use a triceps strap when they are doing press-downs because they may have a weakness in their wrists and they can’t get a good grip. A triceps strap can also be used to perform kneeling ab- crunches, bicep curls, triceps extensions and delta raises.

There is a lot of controversy about training aids such as straps and belts with some saying that using them doesn’t allow you to build your hand strength as best as you might be able to without it. On the other hand, you will likely be able to pump out a lot more reps strengthening your triceps. The decision is basically a matter of personal preference. You can purchase a good triceps strap online for about $15 or $20 but it is advised that you buy one at a store so that you can try it on first to make sure that it fits and doesn’t pinch your skin, also test it for breathability which is important when working out.

Lifting accessories have been around since lifting began. Accessories cover everything from bars to gloves to belts to hats to knee and wrist wraps, to various straps. If you can think of it, it is out there. People want to lift more, target different muscles, and in general, make lifting weights easier and more comfortable. People are always looking for the best tools available and the best information on how to use these tools.
