Tone Abdominals

There is plenty of information available on how to get trim and sexy abs and they all fall back to one thing, exercise. When it comes to training these muscles, there is no one tactic that will work, and you must understand that there is no magic answer, or instant result. The thing about the ab muscles is that they are the most desirable to have tone and definition, though they are generally the hardest to train.

Many know that crunches and sit-ups work very well to define the abdominals, and while they are useful the problem is that your muscles only respond with extra work and when they are forced beyond what they normally do. When you use your abdominal muscles through your daily activities, simply adding a few crunches is not really going to be an effective workout for abdominals because it does not push them any further than your normal activity does.

To get more definition in the abs you simply have to increase the intensity of what you are currently doing. Add weight to your workouts for abdominals, and you will see development. Some of the exercises that are proven to work for sexy and defined abs are weighted sit ups, weighted incline sit ups, and weighted crunches.

Using a pulley or cables and weights can do wonder for your abs because they offer a form of resistance. As you pull up to do the crunch or sit-up, you will feel the extra weight. Aim for 5 to 15% increase in weight each time you workout. There are three keys for developing great abdominal muscles, a high intensity muscle overload, progressive intensity, and adequate timing between workouts for abdominals to ensure you do not over or under train.

The abdominal muscles are generally regarded as a symbol of a fit and healthy person. Well-defined abs also helps to build confidence. It is difficult to achieve the goal of six pack abs because a layer of fat “covers” the stomach in most people, but more so in men. Men tend to hold any weight gain in their bellies while women seem to hold fat in their buttocks and thighs. So for a man to ever have the chance of seeing a 6 pack stomach, he must lose that layer of fat. Doing many crunches and sit-ups will help, but if you aren’t eating a diet for building muscle and losing fat, then you’ll likely fail in your goal.

Getting sexy abs requires diligence and it also means that you have to maintain a healthy and restricted diet, engage in frequent cardio workouts, and do some strength training with weights. You must increase your metabolism in order to lose weight and burn fat naturally. There are millions of gadgets that promise six pack abs in no time but are all a waste of money. There is no easy solution to getting sexy abs; you have to work for them but you should know now that the work will not be in vain.
