Karaoke Rental

By Yosef Solomon on December 1st, 2008

There are many companies around the United States that provide Karaoke Rental services. This is where a private citizen can rent arrange for a Karaoke Rental machine, and take it home or to a location where they can gather with family and friends and sing.

The invention of what we now know as modern Karaoke was by a Japanese musician named Daisuke Inouse in the city of Kobe, Japan. In the early 1970’s he was repeatedly asked by listeners of his performances to provide recordings of his musical performances so they could sing along and remember the performance. Mr. Inouse realized that this was a potential music market and so he made a special tape recorder that played one of his songs for a Japanese coin, a 100 yen coin.

One of the things that this Japanese Musician did was begin to lease, or rent these special music machines to people rather than selling them, or giving them away. He set up the first Karaoke Rentals, and provided them so stores did not have to buy song but the songs came with the machine. It was at first considered an expensive flash in the pan fad, but it slowly caught on, and made its way to first Philippines.

A Filipino inventor named Roberto Del Rosario wisely seized the opportunity, and patented the new sing a long system. “Minus-One is the name of the device that is officially patented as the first Karaoke Rental system. The music system and method of Karaoke Rental spread across Asia in the 1980s, and slowly became popular in the USA in the 1990’s as well as Australia, Canada and other European and Western countries.

Karaoke Rentals are not that popular in the USA even to this day, but many systems are being set up as purchases as “Home Theater systems” and the use a karaoke machine becomes a sideline. Still, there are many people in the USA that enjoy going out and finding a Karaoke Rental or attending a party where someone has rented one. It is enjoyable and a fun family and large group activity.

A basic Karaoke machine is a music player of some sort, a microphone with a loud speaker, and sometimes a method of displaying lyrics so people that do not know the words to the songs can sing along. Many people in large cities such as New York City utilize Karaoke Rental as a method of entertaining, and it can be rewarding as well as fun to participate in.

The actual process of Karaoke Rental remains the most popular in Japan, and it is a activity that has heavy participation in both Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and other locations in Asia and elsewhere. If you are looking for something for a large group to do, then a Karaoke Rental may be the activity you are looking for.

Most Karaoke Rental prices are reasonable, they normally rent for periods of time from 12 to 48 hours, though longer rental periods are sometimes possible.
