If you are thinking about investing in a pressure washer, there are many things that you will want to know before doing so. For instance, you are going to want to make sure that you are familiar with all of the different terms that are used. If you do not know the language that is used, you will not be able to properly research these products. This is the reason that knowing all of the different terms will help you to understand the quality of the product you are buying. This is why we have put together some information on pressure washer terms below.

Adjustable Spray Wand: This refers to a wand that allows you to adjust the angle in which you are spraying. This is a feature that home owners usually like and something that you may want your pressure washer to have.

Detergent Injection System: A detergent injection system allows detergents to enter the stream of water making your cleaning efforts more effective. This is something that most home owners will definitely want to have with their pressure washers. However you must know the language that is used in order to know if the product you are thinking of buying has these features.

GPM: This refers to “gallons per minute”. This is, quite obviously, a measure of water flow. This is something that you are going to have to know in order to determine the quality of the machine you are looking at.

PSI: This is “pounds per square inch”. This is also something that you are definitely going to want to consider when purchasing a pressure washer. The PSI is one of the most important things to consider. This is because the higher the PSI the stronger your flow of water will be. This is the reason that you must consider PSI if you are looking for a machine that will be strong enough for specific tasks. If you have a pressure washer which has a stream that isn’t strong enough, it is most likely a problem with the amount of PSI that the specific machine allows. In most cases an upgrade in machines to one with higher PSI will correct the problem.

Purge: This term refers to a process that should be repeated after use of the pressure washer. The basic idea of purging your pressure washer is to get rid of any of the excess air in the line. This will allow you to start the machine a lot easier the next time you use it.

When using pressure washers it’s important to remember that there are many instructions you will have to follow in order to keep your machine in good working order. Now that you know the terms that are used for these products, it will be a lot easier to understand the instructions for use and care that should have come with your pressure washer. This is the best way to make sure that you are safe when using your pressure washer.
