When people think about the more popular sports injuries, they think about fractures. They do not think of fractures as one type of issue, but as a wide variety of sport injuries that can occur. Sports fractures differ from sport to sport, simply because the use of different body parts changes from sport to sport. There are multiple types of sports injuries that people can wind up dealing with. While they may be able to be connected to various sports, nearly each fracture is possible in every sport.
Legs
When people think about fractures, they tend to think about legs. People always assume sports injuries with the legs, simply because these are the most common types of sports injuries. When it comes to leg fractures, there are two different things that you need to think about. There are the compound fractures, which are the fractures that can be seen from the outside. There are also stress fractures, which are harder to see as they do not require the movement of the bone. All of these kinds of fractures can cause great pain, and can cause athletes to be out of commission for months.
Foot
Foot fractures are sports injuries that people often fail to even think about. Foot fractures are possible in every sport, but often happen to those who are taller. These foot injuries can be a pain, and they may take a long time to recover from, simply because the feet are fragile and are easy to aggravate. Some sports (football, basketball) will see more issues with this than some other sports (Swimming, Golf).
Hands
Hand fractures can also be sports injuries that are possible in nearly ever sport, and are often incredibly painful. These can be fractures on the fingers, or they can be fractures of the rest of the hand itself. While these require a cast, most people can still do some type of sports activity, as long as they are not using the hand that is broken.
Collar Bone
Collar bone fractures are painful and take a while to recover from, but are sports injuries that are not seen that often. This is the type of injury that is seen more often than not when dealing with sports that are contact sports. Football players and rugby players are the players who get these injuries most often, because of the contact involved in their sports.
People are used to the idea of leg fractures, as they are the most common. They think of the stress fractures and the compound fractures that they think of sports stars having in all of the different kinds of sports. While this is a major type of fracture, it is not the only type of sports injury that can happen. There are a wide variety of fractures that people can go through in different sports, and each one has a different kind of recovery time, and will require different kinds of help.
