Consoles

Treadmill Display Consoles come in many different designs and offer a variety of features, the more features and gadgets the higher the price will likely be. If you opt for a cheaper treadmill then it is likely that the console will not have many bells and whistles. It would likely just have distance covered, time, and calories burned but that really is all that most people use anyways. The high end model treadmills are more expensive and are considered to be high end models. These types of treadmills have an actual computerized console that includes interactive workout features and routines, internet hook up capabilities, and heart rate monitors. Some treadmills can hook up to the internet you can download new workout routines.

Although they are attractive features, the treadmill display consoles are not the meat and potatoes of the treadmill. When you are shopping for a treadmill you should make sure that it is a durable treadmill with a good frame, belt, and motor that will last you for a long time. If you find a good mid price range treadmill but it does not have the display console that you want, it might be a good idea to make the sacrifice and not get the display console that you want.

Your other option is to continue looking for a high-end treadmill that will be well built, durable and have an interactive display console. If you do enough research you should be able to find the best treadmill with all the display features that you want in or slightly above your price range. The treadmill console is the part of your treadmill that you interface with and it is also the most recognizable part of the machine.

It is the place where are the buttons are, and where you get the information that you need to know how your workout is going. Without the console you wouldn’t be able to know anything at all about how each workout was advancing. You wouldn’t have a time display and also wouldn’t know the distance that you traveled. If your diet program or your doctor advises you to walk a mile per day then you want to be certain that is how much you are walking rather than guessing.

On the console it will indicate speed which is the distance you cover in a span of time. Most treadmills measure speed in miles per hour and/or kilometers per hour. Pace refers to how fast you cover a specific distance. This is typically displayed in minutes per mile or minutes per kilometer. Most treadmills also give you information about calories burned per hour and calories burned in total. METS might be included in your read out, they are “minimum energy equivalents” and they’re used as a way to compare the intensity of one activity to another completely different activity. In layman’s terms, one MET is defined as the amount of energy you use at complete rest.
